Summer Session

The Art Institute of Boston offers both credit and non-credit courses in the visual arts, design, technology, and art history in various forms from June through August. Choose from full courses, weekend intensives, weeklong workshops and online options.  See our full list of offerings here.

All are welcome; current students, transfer students, educators, and professionals looking to expand their repertoire of art and design skills. Access to the full range of AIB studios and facilities are available in the relaxed atmosphere of summertime, not to mention other perks:

• A way to improve your GPA by focusing on one or two courses
• Summer tuition rates are lower
• Professional Development Points (PDPs) available for all courses
• Credit or non-credit options available
• Travel courses offered

Federal, State and Lesley University financial aid-based assistance is available for Fall and Spring semesters. Financial aid consideration for the summer semester can include federal Pell grants for students who are eligible. Students can also investigate and apply for privately sponsored educational alternative loans to supplement associated costs for these semesters. Application for Admissions is not required for the Summer Session. Students can simply register online or by calling the Office of Extended Programs at 617.585.6724 or 617.585.6729. International students should contact the Office of Extended Programs regarding visas.
