Transfer Students Welcome!
The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University welcomes Summer enrollment. AIB maintains Articulation Agreements with regional community colleges whereby students graduating with an AA or AS degree can more easily facilitate the transfer of credits to the BFA program. The transfer of credit is previously determined to ease the transfer process. Below is a list of those community colleges with active agreements. Contact Alan Van Reed at 617.585.6707 or by email.
AIB's Art History Major and Minor
AIB offers a BFA in Art History with a concentration in Modern and Contemporary Art. This major is directed to students who wish to study in depth the history and theory of art while at the same time seriously engaging in art making. The emphasis of the curriculum on art of the 20th and 21st centuries is designed to complement the studio focus of the degree, with special attention paid to concerns directly affecting today's practicing artists.
A BA in Art History is also offered through Lesley College.
The Art History Minor is designed to enrich the BFA studio degree by offering the opportunity to enhance training in a chosen artistic specialty with a more focused study of the history and theory of art. Many students will welcome the opportunity to delve more deeply into art of other eras and cultures and to further develop their critical writing skills as a natural complement to their own art making. Because Art History is already a significant required component of all AIB students' education, the additional requirements for the Minor can easily be fulfilled. For information regarding eligibility and program requirements, contact Susan Ashbrook at 617.585.6775 or by email.
