Personal Statement for Curriculum & Instruction, Integrated Teaching through the Arts, Ed.S.
The Application Statement is a vital component of your application. The Admissions Committee carefully reviews these statements for excellence in thinking and writing, personal/professional communication style, coherence in thought and clarity. Your application statement should be 1200 - 1500 words in length.
Please address in two parts the following issues:
Part I. Relevant personal background, interests, goals, and experience
- What education, training, experiences and skills do you have that prepare you for a post-graduate degree program?
- What are your long-term professional goals and how do you expect the Integrated Teaching through the Arts Ed. S. program will help you to meet them?
- What are your educational leadership experiences and aspirations?
- What is your experience in the arts, if any, both in and out of the classroom?
Part II. Educational issues and concerns, research interests
- What is a current issue, trend, or problem in education that matters most to you? Elaborate on what you have done or what you hope to do to address this issue. Provide support from your education, reading, and personal/professional experiences.
