Small Campus

Think Big

Lesley College is a small school with big resources. As one of four colleges that comprise Lesley University, Lesley College undergrads have access to more than 1300 courses that span the liberal arts, fine arts, and professional spectrum. This includes coursework offered by the Art Institute of Boston (AIB), Lesley's professional art college, along with graduate study.

Expand your learning opportunities

Through our accelerated dual degree programs, Lesley students can jumpstart their graduate work in art and expressive arts therapy, counseling psychology, clinical mental health counseling, creative writing, and early childhood, elementary, middle school, secondary, and special education. Opportunities to study abroad or to design your own degree program add to that 'bigger picture' feel.

Here, your voice is heard

We believe in the power of big ideas, not big classes. Central to the core of what Lesley is about is the belief that true learning is more than lecture and page. Here you'll find discourse and discussion both between faculty and students, and between students and their peers.

You'll also hear different points of view

At Lesley, you'll meet lots of students whose life experiences differ from your own. Visit a class and you'll see chairs moved into a circle -- voices from around the room. There is as much focus given to the art of listening as there is to speaking. Size? 16-20 students, on average.

College is a time when you shape your own way of thinking. At Lesley, we make it a point to help you expand your thoughts.

A five-acre home in the city

Think college campus -- what do you see?
The term 'best of both worlds' gets tossed around a lot. But at Lesley, we really do have the best of many worlds. Parks, nightlife, skiing an hour from Boston, sailing on the Charles river, dining, hiking, shopping, theatre, movies, and sports.

A campus that's both urban and residential

It's quiet enough to relax and study. Busy enough to keep you on the go and out at night. Sit out on the quad with your friends or hop the T -- our public transportation system -- into Boston.

Enjoy local flavors from around the world

You've got Harvard, Porter, and Davis Squares right around the corner along with 250,000 college students taking advantage of every pizza, Chinese food, Indian restaurant, ice cream, and caffeine resource you could ever want. With or without the espresso boost, it's a high energy community.

Growing appeal

With two new residential buildings now open, we've already made room for your arrival. And the location couldn't be better, right on Massachusetts Avenue (Mass Ave) the main thoroughfare between Cambridge and Boston.

Campus expansion

There's a new location for the improved, and larger, library as well, along with more student housing and classrooms on Brattle Street just off Harvard Square. It's an expansion that gives Lesley a third section to our Cambridge campus -- all are within a 7-10 minute walk from each other. . Just in time, too, since our freshman classes continue to increase in size every year.
