Collaborative Support for Students with Diverse Needs
Special Education teachers must be able to work effectively with diverse populations of students in a collaborative environment involving families, internal teams, and outside agencies. Lesley offers a broad range of special education programs: in Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8 and 5-12), Severe Disabilities (all levels), and Moderate and Severe Disabilities (PreK-8 and 5-12).
Our degree programs include M.Ed. degree programs leading to initial licensure; non-licensure M.Ed. programs; programs leading to initial license only for educators with an initial license in Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle School, or High School education who also want initial licensure in either moderate or severe disabilities; and an Advanced Professional Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders, which can be used as a concentration within an M.Ed. program.
We also offer an Individually Designed program for students who wish to pursue a specially tailored set of courses most conducive to their personal and professional goals. In all cases, we seek to provide an educational experience combining theory and practice that enhances the compassion and commitment of our students.
