Refine Your Creative Vision with Our Faculty Mentors
Lesley University offers Master of Fine Arts programs in Creative Writing, Visual Arts, and Photography. Here, you'll learn the art of deeply personal expression from faculty who are themselves working artists and writers. They serve not only as educators, but as models and mentors, helping you to hone your eye and refine your artistic expression. You will emerge with an impressive portfolio and a sure sense of what you want to - and can - accomplish in your chosen field.
The MFA in Creative Writing, named one of the top 10 low-residency MFA programs by Poets & Writers magazine, offers five concentrations:
Through the Art Institute of Boston (AIB), Lesley offers a low-residency MFA in Visual Arts program that allows students, with the guidance of a faculty mentor and academic advisor, to design their own studio and academic plan each semester. The interdisciplinary focus of the program encourages students to explore the integration of a range of visual arts media.
The Art Institute of Boston is also home to the MFA in Photography, a residential, campus-based program that emphasizes craft and concept-driven photography. Of the 60 required credits, 30 are graduate-level courses; 12 are Professional Studies opportunities for internships, mentoring, fellowships, and teaching assistantships; and 18 are electives students can choose from existing AIB studio, critical studies, and art history offerings.
