A Foundation for Success
Literacy is the foundation for success not only in school but in life as well. However, student progress in the areas of reading, creative and functional writing, and developing speaking and listening skills can vary widely. As a result, there are many students in the general classroom who require regular intervention by literacy and reading specialists. Such specialists often work one on one with students at varying ages, grades, and levels of need.
Lesley offers M.Ed. and certificate programs that provide a thorough grounding in theory and instruction in the skills and practices of consultation and collaboration that are at the heart of a literacy/reading specialist's practice. Our programs also offer field placement opportunities for students to serve as tutors and interns in school and clinical settings.
