A Powerful Connection Between the Arts, Theory, and Practice
Lesley University is a pioneer in the field of Expressive Therapies. One of the largest, most influential of its kind, our Expressive Therapies program trains students to engage others in the healing process through the therapeutic use of the arts. This emerging field provides a powerful connection between the arts, theory, and clinical training for the purpose of inspiring positive change in our world.
Lesley offers a wide range of Expressive Therapies programs through which students are encouraged to develop their identities as artists and facilitators of the creative process, as well as their skills in mental health counseling. The Master's degree in Expressive Therapies offers specializations in art, dance, expressive therapies (multi-modal), music, and psychodrama/drama. Lesley also offers a Ph.D. in Expressive Therapies and Advanced Professional Certificates in Play Therapy and Expressive Therapies.
Our programs train professionals to work with a variety of populations in a range of settings, including schools, hospitals, mental health centers, geriatric centers, and clinics. Whether working one on one or in small groups, Lesley graduates are able to make an important difference in the lives of others using their Expressive Therapies credentials.
