Cambridge Experience
Boston's thought leadership epicenter

As home to Harvard, MIT, and Lesley, Cambridge has been a long-time incubator for new ideas. (Both revolutionary war troops, and 60's radicals, gathered on Cambridge Common). So whether you're in the classroom, out for coffee, or in a tavern booth, you'll find yourself surrounded by people who love to talk about ideas.
Authors, activists, academics, and you
Sometimes important discoveries occur unexpectedly. (Who would have thought someone looking to collect Pez™ dispensers would lead to eBay?) Cross-disciplinary thinking and learning is one of the key benefits of studying in Cambridge. For example:
- Expressive Therapy students work with accomplished AIB artists
- Teachers benefit from drama classes that improve their performance in the classroom
- Counseling students use Intercultural Relations courses to enhance their multicultural understanding
- Administrators beta test the latest educational technology
At Lesley, you'll enjoy many opportunities to enhance your learning in ways, and places, just not possible elsewhere.
Redefining diversity
Cambridge is diverse in its restaurants, its music, its museums, its people – and perhaps most notably, the opinions of its citizens. Yet despite the fervent discussion and debate, you'll find a healthy respect for the viewpoint of others, and a shared sense of civic duty. Both on-campus and off, you'll find people who believe "we are one."
When you're not studying...
Sure, the learning possibilities here are endless – but so are the diversions when you're ready to take a break. Museums (more than a dozen) galleries, bookstores, theaters, boutiques – and they all offer student discounts. For free fun, enjoy a walk along the Charles River, see the incredible homes on Brattle Street, and be sure to check out the street performers in Harvard Square.
