Sabra Lee

Senior Research Associate

Sabra LeeSabra is a senior research associate at PERG where she has worked since 1978. Her current work includes:

  • A 5 year middle and high school mathematics course development project, in which the courses are piloted during a 3-week summer institute
  • A 4-year NSF-funded project at 3 minority-serving colleges and universities focused on increasing minority participation in geoscience courses, research and programs
  • A 6-year after school inquiry-based science program located at community centers and science museums, serving youth ages 12-15
  • Research on the ways in which middle school students attending an after-school program use cameras and digital cameras to study trees and pond life

Prior work

Sabra has evaluated numerous science curriculum development projects, as well as museum-based and art programs. Prior to her work at PERG she worked in the math and science centers at TERC, a research, curriculum and technology development organization. She led a committee in the development of an on-line Evaluation Toolkit in Earth/Space sciences for higher education faculty. She has also taught art in elementary school and established and taught in a class for preschool children with severe special needs.
