A certificate of attendance will be awarded to all attendees. Participants may earn professional development points (PDPs) by following their respective state's re-certification guidelines. One clock hour is equivalent to one professional development point. One semester hour is equivalent to 15 professional development points. Institute attendees are encouraged to talk with their administrators regarding specific requirements and are welcome to call the Early Childhood Institute Office at (617) 349-8924 to discuss further details.
Participants may pay by check or money order, credit card (Master Card, Visa, American Express or Discover) or with an original purchase order payable to the Early Childhood Institute.
Institute registrations that are paid by a purchase order must include on the registration form, the purchase order number, the name of the registrant, and the name of the issuing school system or agency. The original with authorized signature must be included with the registration form. Please retain a copy of the purchase order for your records. If you have any questions about the above procedures, please call the Institute Office at (617) 349-8924 or toll free (800) 999-1959 x8924.
Refund requests received before December 20 will be honored with a $50.00 administrative processing fee deducted from the refund. Requests must be made in writing via email to Heather Fox, Program Manager, Center for Children, Families and Public Policy at hfox@lesley.edu<. Refund request received after December 20, 2007 cannot be honored. Registration fees received after December 20, 2007 are non-refundable. The refund policy is the same for prepaid and purchase order registrations. If at the last minute you are unable to attend, we suggest you send a colleague in your place.
The Early Childhood Institute will be held at University Hall, Graduate School of Education at Lesley University located at 1815 Massachusetts Avenue, Cambridge, MA. University Hall, located in Porter Square is accessible by car, train and bus. Transportation is also available from Logan Airport in Boston, MA. We highly recommend taking public transportation sue to space availability and expense. We are conveniently located on the subway line and commuter rail.
For your convenience, the Early Childhood Institute has established a discounted room rate at Hawthorn Suites Hotel at 1 Massachusetts Avenue, Arlington, MA of $139 per day plus tax for Institute participants. This rate will be good for one day prior through one day after Institute dates. The deadline for accepting reservations at this discounted rate is 3 weeks prior to the day of check-in. Please call 781-643-7258 to make reservations and request the special ECI rate.
All meeting rooms are accessible by elevator. Persons requiring special assistance should contact the Institute office at 617-349-8924.
Complimentary morning coffee and tea plus lunch will be provided on each day of the Institute.
At the end of each day of the Institute, please take time to complete the Institute Evaluation Form which can be found in your Institute Welcome Packet. After filling out and turning in your evaluation form you will be issued your Certificate of Attendance.
