Fundamentals of Microsoft Excel, Part I

Fundamentals of Microsoft Excel, Part II

In Part II, we will cover how to create, edit, copy and move formulas, as well as work with built-in functions. We will also cover charting and displaying your numeric data in a visually meaningful way. The workshop is designed for individuals with some Excel experience or having completed Part I. Fundamentals of Microsoft PowerPoint, Part II
October 28, 9:00 am - 10:30 am, Library 403
In Part II, we will focus on how you can enhance the slides within your presentation. We will cover how you can add graphics (including your own drawings), sound, hyperlinks, action buttons and animation effects. We will also demonstrate how to modify slide masters and work with slide headers and footers. This workshop is designed for individuals with some PowerPoint experience or who have completed Part I. myLesley Workshops
myLesley Course Basics October 2, 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm, Univ 3-084
This session will provide instruction and hands on time for faculty on some of the core features of a myLesley course. Participants will learn to post syllabi, edit and arrange content, copy information, post discussions and links, as well as work on the look and feel of their course sites. This workshop is ideal for individuals that are somewhat familiar with myLesley and need to brush up on their knowledge, or are brand new to the software.

myLesley Grade Center 101

This workshop will introduce the basic components of the Grade Center tool in myLesley. This will cover setting up columns, the recommended way to set up assignments, how to view and enter grades as well as composing comments.
myLesley 101 Skills Development Online Course The myLesley 101 skills development course is an online, self-study course about the basics of using myLesley. myLesley 101 provides guides and tutorials on how to set up a new course and ways to enhance existing courses. Whether you are using myLesley for the first time or the 100th time, myLesley 101 provides you with relevant materials. Some highlights include uploading files such as a syllabus to your course, linking to outside websites, discussion board overview, Grade Center options and customizing the look and feel of your course.
This online course is self-paced, allowing you the flexibility in selecting the topics you would like to focus on, as well as how frequently you wish to access the materials. Instructional Designers Kristina McElroy and Elisabeth Gabriel will be co-facilitating the course.

Online Course Development Seminar
Fully Online - 4 Weeks, Requiring 6-8 hours/week

This seminar is designed to help faculty begin to develop a fully online (or hybrid) course. Participants will learn about the process of course development for delivery in the online environment, explore different components of an online course including discussions and assignments, and experience first-hand what it is like to be an online student. Participants will deepen their understanding of online pedagogy while learning technical tips along the way. This seminar is meant to be a starting point for course development - after completion of the seminar, faculty will receive ongoing support to complete the course development.

Teaching Online Seminar

This seminar is designed to demonstrate effective teaching strategies for use in the online classroom. Participants will learn how to facilitate the discussion board, use the integrated assignment/Grade Center feature, manage the workload, oversee group work and create a rich, meaningful learning experience for the students.
