Center for Academic Achievement

Services for Students

The Center for Academic Achievement provides services to students currently enrolled in classes in Lesley's degree-granting programs on the main campus. The Center offers students both support and academic enrichment as they adjust to a college setting and meet faculty expectations for quality work.

Students Who Can Benefit from Center for Academic Achievement Services

While nearly every student can benefit from tutorials and workshops, those students in particular who may benefit are:

  • doing passing work, but may not be meeting her/his potential
  • high-achieving but interested in additional personal feedback
  • taking too much time to complete work
  • eager to improve her/his writing
  • frustrated with the reading material
  • facing an academic challenge, or who has a documented learning disability (LD)

Student Support Services

Our goal is to offer a range of services which mirrors the needs of Lesley's diverse student population. Here are some of our current offerings:

Basic services:

  • Individual tutorials by peer and professional tutors in writing, reading comprehension, study skills, research skills, time management, and selected mathematical skills.
  • Individual tutorials are offered during daytime, evening, and Saturday, and are available by appointment only.
  • Tutorials in reading, writing, and specific course content.
  • Support in arranging reasonable accommodations that satisfy academic standards. Learn more about testing accommodations for students with learning disabilities.
