Appointments

Appointments are 50 minutes long and students may make up to a maximum of 2 per week. Under special conditions, students may be able to have additional tutoring by special arrangement.

Cancellations

Please call 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule an appointment. If you cancel an appointment at the last minute, or do not appear, we may be unable to fill that time slot with another student. While legitimate and unforeseen conflicts do occur, we need to be fair to all students. Therefore, if you miss 2 appointments without giving us 24 hours notice, your future Center privileges may be jeopardized.

Changing Tutors

Although all tutors have been recommended by faculty and trained, sometimes tutor and tutee styles aren't compatible. Talk to the Office Coordinator if you feel you would profit from working with a different tutor.

Computer Use

We have computers that you may use within the tutorial session only. Any further work has to be done in the Word Processing Center at Lesley. We do not word process documents for students or teach them word processing. (University Technology offers computer services for students.). The Center allows students to download papers from their personal email accounts. It does not allow the use of USB ports or diskettes.

Confidentiality

The use of the Center for Academic Achievement is considered a private matter of a Lesley student. All aspects of tutorials are kept confidential, as is the frequenting of the Center, unless we have explicit permission from you to share this information.
