Tibet - Sacred Ceremonies & Sacred PlacesThis journey is a pilgrimage to discover Tibetan wisdom, ancient beliefs and ceremonies, as well as an inner-journey of self-discovery. There will be numerous opportunities for the group, and as individuals, to have interaction with monks and nuns, local Tibetans and pilgrims. Some exchanges will be more organized through visits to monasteries, nunneries, villages and community service. Others will be serendipitous depending on whom we encounter along the way. Students can earn graduate or undergraduate credit or professional development points (PDPs). Non-credit option available. An example of a day in Tibet:Day 4: LhasaVisit the Jokhang Temple, the oldest temple in Tibet. Step back into time and join other pilgrims and monks in their daily devotion and meditation practice. Stroll through a labyrinth of shrines, halls and galleries containing some of the finest and oldest treasures of Tibetan art.
