The British Experience

We invite you to experience British Culture by living and learning on the campus of Homerton College, Cambridge University in Cambridge, England. Faculty from Homerton College and Lesley University will give presentations on a wide range of topics. There will be field visits including schools, museums, theatres, libraries and historical and literary sites. Students, teachers, or professionals interested in exploring issues related to the education, literature, art, history or architecture in Britain could earn credits in liberal arts, education, or interdisciplinary study. Students will design individual research projects in areas of interest under the direction of Lesley faculty.

Examples of issues to explore:

History

  • Explore the history, medieval architecture and walled gardens of Cambridge Colleges

Education

  • Observe primary and secondary classrooms in action
  • Discuss educational issues with teachers, school administrators and Homerton faculty

Arts

  • Visit leading British museums in Cambridge and London

Literature

  • Walk in the footsteps of literary figures such as Virginia Woolf or experience Shakespearean theater

Students can earn graduate or undergraduate credit in interdisciplinary studies, humanities, social science or management. Non-credit option available.
