Associate Director & Director of Alumni Programs, Threshold Program

Cara Streit

Cara oversees the Threshold Alumni Center and the Bridge and Transition Year programs. She has been with Threshold for 10 years in multiple roles, including Director of Residence Life and an instructor in online and in-person courses. Her academic expertise is college participation for young adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, and she has particular interests in inclusive college environments and in the transition from post-secondary settings into later adulthood.

At Lesley, she teaches the following courses: Learning, Working, and Living Well: Social Issues for People with Special Needs, Self-Advocacy, Stress Management, and Healthy Relationships. 

Cara holds a BS from Boston College, a MSW from Simmons College, and a EdD in Special Education from Boston University.
