LETTER OF WELCOMEWelcome to the Adult Learning Division (ALD)! You are about to join a rich and diverse community of learners, individuals committed to starting or continuing their education while balancing careers, families and civic responsibilities. You will study with other interesting people, like yourselves, who bring a rich repertoire of life experiences to every classroom and who, like yourselves, welcome the opportunity to reflect on what they know and grow in often unexpected ways. At Lesley, you will engage in diverse environments with faculty who are known at home and in their professional circles for their excellence. Our programs are designed to be flexible in response to the particular needs of diverse students and the teaching styles that we have learned are most successful. We welcome and embrace the challenge of offering a quality educational experience to this wonderfully diverse student population. For those seeking a Bachelor's degree, you will find choices in both delivery formats and programs of study carefully designed for learners of all ages and backgrounds. You can choose to study on-campus in the late afternoon, the evening and on weekends. Or, you may find regional programs offering weekend courses nearby your home or workplace. You can also choose our Learning Community Bachelor's program which allows you to alternate a week-long residency with independent study. You may even design your own major with the help of an academic advisor. Those of you interested in pursuing a career in education may do so by combining a minor in early childhood education or elementary education with an appropriate major. Whatever option you choose, you will find a collegial learning environment characterized by small classes, challenging and creative coursework, and a dedicated faculty that will honor your past experiences and who are committed to excellence not only in what they teach, but in how they teach as well. updated 08/21/07 | 03:32 PM
