Distance Learning Adult Bachelor's Degree Program

The best of face-to-face & online learning

Lesley University's flexible Adult Bachelor's Degree program will enable you to design your own degree with minimal disruption to your work life or family life.

The Learning Community Bachelor's (LCB) program is a distance learning program at Lesley University that has been helping adults complete their Bachelor's degrees since 1981. Students work with faculty mentors to design their own degrees by integrating life experience with academic theory. If you are an adult who enjoys studying independently but would benefit from a supportive learning community, LCB is the program for you.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Five days of face-to-face community and six months of online community each semester

Face-to-face community

Each semester begins with a five-day residency (Sat - Wed) where you will come together with faculty members and peers to design your program of study. During each of the residencies, which are held in Sturbridge, Massachusetts, students will:

  • LCB ProgramParticipate in workshops and study groups
  • Work one-on-one with faculty mentors
  • Share academic work with fellow adult students
  • Create detailed study plans that outline the next six months of study

Online community

Following each residency, students stay academically and socially connected through the Lesley University online community called MyLesley. Through MyLesley LCB students can:

  • LCB ProgramParticipate in online study groups
  • Visit chat rooms to discuss study topics with fellow students and faculty mentors
  • View academic resources such as bibliographies and relevant publications
  • Link to Lesley's Ludcke Library and other student services
  • Post work for feedback from peers and instructors
  • Check in for a pep talk or any other academic support
