Operational Schedule for Saturday, Sunday and Monday, February 14-16, 2015
The University is closely monitoring the path of the weekend coastal storm and considering how this storm may impact our community this holiday weekend. A blizzard watch remains posted for the coast with a winter storm watch over interior areas for late Saturday and early Sunday. The storm is still on track to impact the Cambridge area this weekend potentially bringing blizzard conditions and snow accumulations of 12 – 16 inches. What all of Southern New England will see over the next 48 hours will be bitter cold temperatures for the weekend. Temperatures tonight will fall into the single digits. Wind chills could fall to 5 to 10 below zero, as winds increase into the morning. So, stay inside if possible, but please bundle up if you have to head out.
At this time, we do not plan to officially close the University this weekend. We are doing this for two reasons: there are less than five courses scheduled for Sunday and decisions about how they will be handled will be made by the faculty in conjunction with their schools and there are a number of undergraduate student life activities on campus which we think are OK to continue.
All weekend classes should be prepared and have a plan in place to communicate to students the decision to meet or not and how the class will be made up. If there are changing conditions, we will update the community on those changes through the Lesley.edu website and email. Essential Lesley University personnel (Public Safety, Facilities and Dining Service personnel) will be on campus to attend to the welfare of the University community. Dining Services will be on their regular weekend and holiday schedule.
The weekend Lesley van/shuttle service will be operating on their regular Saturday schedule however because of the storm, there will not be any shuttle van service on Sunday. Because of the bitter cold, we are running a special holiday van shuttle to the three campuses on Monday, President’s Day holiday. Below is the Monday Van Shuttle Schedule:

If you are on campus, please be advised, there is still a great deal of slush on the roadways and crosswalks which will freeze overnight. Some of the side roads around the campus as of today, Friday, are still in rough shape. There is little on-street parking and very high banks of snow. Parking lots have been plowed but the number of available parking spaces is reduced due to the mounds of snow. Also, please be very careful when walking in the area.
If you experience any issues (heat or water leaks for example) or see any problems (ice building either on sidewalk or roofs) contact the public safety office and they will notify the appropriate person.
Have a great holiday weekend and be safe, and warm.
In case of emergency, call 911 before calling Public Safety.
