• by leveraging and building on existing skills, graduates are empowered to help eliminate violence and trauma in Guyana
Break the Cycle of Violence with Successful Support Services
As in many developing countries, violence against women and children is endemic in Guyana. The resulting trauma perpetuates the cycle and has devastating psychological effects, especially on children. This new degree program aims to build the capacity of those offering protection and welfare support services to meet the pressing needs of Guyana's youths. Graduates will emerge not only skilled mental health practitioners, but they will also be strong community leaders equipped to train others in their respective organizations and fields.
