Scholars without Borders Awards

Lesley University's Scholars without Borders promotes the development of a community of global scholars at Lesley by providing study abroad scholarships in the $500-$2,500 range. Contact the Study Abroad Office (lcexchange@lesley.edu) for details.

Affiliate Grants

Our study abroad affiliates typically have scholarship programs for accepted students.  These are sometimes administered by Lesley's Study Abroad Office and sometimes available to applicants directly from the study abroad program.  Be sure to investigate this option thoroughly.

Federal Scholarships

• Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships Program - The program's goal is to diversify the kinds of students who study abroad and the destinations visited.
• David L. Boren Scholarships for International Study - Boren Scholarships allow US undergraduate students to study less commonly taught languages in world regions critical to US interests but underrepresented in study abroad.
• Critical Languages Scholarships - for advanced summer study of less commonly taught languages.

Other Awards

• Foundation for Global Scholars -- administers the STA Travel, Diversity Abroad and Banks Family scholarships.  Each program has specific eligibility and application requirements.
• Fund for Education Abroad -- The Fund for Education Abroad is committed to increasing the opportunities for dedicated American students to participate in high-quality, rigorous education abroad programs by reducing financial restrictions.
• GO! Overseas/Study Abroad -- GO! Overseas scholarships are awarded based on creativity and analytical thinking demonstrated through writing samples and video submissions.
• National Association of Fellowship Advisors - this site list many US government and privately funded scholarships.
• MASA - Meaning "journey" in Hebrew, the MASA program provides financial support to enable Jewish students from all over the world to spend a semester to a year in Israel.
