Study abroad. Make the world your classroom. Join a community of scholars without borders.
Study abroad cultivates understanding of the social, cultural, economic, political, and technological forces that shape today's global society, while also building self-knowledge and appreciation for multiple perspectives. While abroad you will engage in meaningful cultural exchange and language-learning. You will build confidence and analytical skill. Your creativity will be enhanced, as will career potential. Check out this recent report from Lesley student Mellanie Griffin-Michael, who spent a semester in Sweden as an exchange student.
There are many options for study abroad at Lesley. Students can spend a semester or a year at a university abroad with one of our exchange programs or through our network of provider programs. Shorter-term offerings during the summer and January-term are available through travel-study courses led by Lesley faculty and organizations such as Broadreach & Wisdom Study Abroad. Some students are even able to line up international internships.
While abroad, you may take a mix of courses that fulfill your major and general education requirements, as well as free electives. The Study Abroad Office will advise you on how to search for courses at our programs abroad. You'll then consult with your academic adviser at Lesley to determine how the courses will count toward your degree requirements. This information is recorded on our study abroad course approval form.
