Recommendation Requirements for Undergraduate and Graduate Program Applicants
Applicants are required to submit recommendations from individuals with whom they have worked closely in a professional or academic setting.
- At least one of these recommendations should come from a present or former supervisor.
- For applicants currently in school, or recent graduates, the second recommendation should be academic in nature.
Recommendations written more than two years prior to the date of application or written by relatives or personal friends are not acceptable.
Recommendations must be delivered to Admissions Services in envelopes sealed by the evaluator, or faxed by the evaluator directly to the Admissions Office at 617.349.8391.

Recommendation Requirements for PhD Program Applicants
1 Letter of Recommendation from a Degreed Ph.D. Holder - In addition to submitting two standard letters of recommendation that meet the Recommendation Requirements for Graduate Program Applicants, one additional letter of recommendation is required. The third letter of recommendation must be authored by an academic respondent holding an earned doctorate degree who can attest to the applicant's ability to complete doctoral study successfully.
