Daniel Newman, Executive Director, Academic Support Services (ADA/504 Coordinator)
Daniel
Newman is Director of the Center for Academic Achievement. He provides
tutorials and workshops on all aspects of academic writing, with special
emphasis on research in the social sciences. Dan is an adjunct
professor in the humanities, focusing on Western philosophy and culture.
He holds a doctorate in educational administration.
Philip Adams, Assistant Director, Center for Academic Achievement
Anhar A. Mulla, Online Tutoring Manager
Anhar
Mulla is the Center's online tutoring manager. Her responsibilities
include the orientation and training of online tutors as well as the
managing of all aspects of the online tutoring program to ensure
effective and timely processing of all tutoring requests. She is a
graduate of Wellesley College (B.A.), Cornell Law School (J.D.) and
Lesley University's School of Management (M.Sc.M.). She enjoys working
with students to achieve their academic objectives and realize their
full potential through the improvement of their writing skills.
Maureen Riley, Director of Academic LD/ADD Services
Maureen
Riley is Associate Professor of Special Education in the Lesley College
and in the School of Education. In the Lesley University Center for
Academic Achievement, she is Director of Academic Support Services for
Students with Learning Disabilities and Attention Disorders. Her area of
specialization is cognition, in particular, as applied to different
ways of knowing and learning. Her research is in the areas of
alternative assessment and curriculum development for the inclusive
classroom.
Kim Johnson, Learning Disability Specialist
Kim Johnson
is the Center's Learning Disability Specialist. She received her
Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Lesley University. Kim earned her
Master Tutor certification from the College Reading and Learning
Association with a focus on learning differences and attention
disorders. Kim enjoys working with students to help foster their growth
in reading and writing skills as well as time management and
organization.
Laura Patey, Director of Access Services
Laura Patey is the Director of Access Services for students with physical, sensory, and psychiatric disabilities.
Holly Aldrich, Disability Access Specialist
Holly Aldrich works with students with physical, sensory, and psychiatric disabilities as an Access Specialist
