TEACHER CERTIFICATION FOR EDUCATORS in UTAH
Listed below are the procedures to assist you in obtaining additional subject matter endorsement(s) in Utah. These procedures require that you contact the Utah State Office Specialist. Please be aware that in order to be eligible to apply for demonstrated competency, you must have taught (under contract) for two years in the subject within the previous five-year period. This experience must have taken place in UTAH.
Lines of evidence may include the following:
- Any college courses in the subject matter area (official or legible copy of transcript)
- Any Professional Development courses in the subject matter area
- Special methods courses
- The recommendation of your principals and others, which must be specific to the subject
- A passing score from a standardized test in the subject in which endorsement is sought
- Student test scores on achievement tests in the subject

Authorization and Educator Licensure in Utah
Authorization - Lesley University is authorized to offer programs in Utah based on the following process: The Utah System of Higher Education has exempted Lesley University from requiring separate authorization under Section 53B-5-105 of the Utah Postsecondary Proprietary School Act.
