Counseling and Psychology graduate programs provide an integrated, comprehensive approach to training that will prepare you for a career as a highly skilled, effective counselor in a school, community, or clinical setting.

Translate Theory Into Practice

Lesley University offers Master's-level and certificate counseling programs for those who wish to develop the understandings and skills needed to counsel individuals, families, and communities. Our Counseling and Psychology programs are grounded in psychology-based theoretical study, an emphasis on field experience, and the development of each student as a reflective practitioner.

Courses address current theory, emerging issues, cultural psychology, and research methods to help graduates meet professional challenges and serve a diverse group of clients. You’ll work with our experienced, passionate team of faculty-practitioners and participate in a rigorous internship program that will help you translate theory into practice.

Peter_Langman_BANNER.02.01.13Dr. Peter Langman, (M.A. in Counseling Psychology 1989) addressed the Lesley Gun Series on March 4th, 2013 with his presentation "The Spectrum of School Shooters."  Langman is a leading expert on the psychology of school shooters whose recommendations and research have been cited in congressional testimony and were presented to President Obama by the head of the American Psychological Association in the wake of the December 2012 Connecticut school shootings.
