How to Add a Content Area to an Existing License
Option 1: Add a Content Area by Completion of Coursework
Complete a profile, application and pay for the application through the online system, LVIS. Submit all materials and official transcripts of the accredited out-of-state program to the Office of Educator Licensing and Development (OELD).
Option 2: Add a Content Area by Passing the Praxis II Test
Complete a profile, application and pay for the application through the online system, LVIS. Select one (1) of the following options:
- A copy of your electronic score report sent to you by ETS. OELD will verify the scores. Make sure you have requested scores to be sent to OELD at the time you register to take the test. Scores that cannot be verified will not be processed.
- Official Examinee Score Report mailed to you by ETS. Must be the official report, cannot be a copy.
Endorsement Earned Through Direct Application
An educator may obtain an Indiana endorsement in the areas listed below by successfully completing the corresponding Lesley program and apply via Option 1: Add a Content Area by Completion of Coursework.
Exceptional Needs (Mild) - Students should complete the full 24-credit Special Education program.
Endorsements Earned Through Content Testing
The Lesley programs listed below will help you prepare for the test, and more importantly, to be a confident and effective educator.
Please note it is important that students interested in earning an endorsement through this route contact the Indiana Department of Education prior to registration to ensure that you are informed of the certification requirements needed to receive an endorsement. Should you have additional questions regarding your educator license, contact the Indiana Department of Education.
Authorization and Educator Licensure in Indiana
Authorization: Lesley University is not required to seek authorization to operate based on Lesley's current activity within this state, as determined by the Indiana Commission on Proprietary Education.
Educator Licensure: Higher education authorization and educator licensure approval are separate entities. For more information on educator licensure, visit the
