AIB's future home in Porter Square, Cambridge, has been designed as a nexus for community arts events and activities, in addition to offering state of the art facilities to students.
Formerly referred to as Lesley College, and founded in 1909 as a school to prepare kindergarten teachers, the undergraduate college supports 21 liberal arts and professional studies majors and is home to Lesley's Center for the Adult Learner. Student engagement, faculty mentorship, creativity, innovation, and the integration of classroom theory with professional practice define the learning experience.
Offering creative and integrative programs to those seeking professional growth in diverse areas of human development, the school is credited with pioneering the field of Expressive Therapies, producing exceptional mental health and counseling practitoners, and is renowned for its prestigious and highly ranked MFA in Creative Writing program. The school is also a leader in the fields of Intercultural Relations and Mindfulness education and is one of the few schools in the country to offer a self-designed Master's degree.
