Lesley University is a dynamic institution dedicated to scholarship grounded in practice and learning rooted in experience. That dedication is reflected in the accomplishment of our 80,000 alumni, award-winning faculty, talented staff, and engaged students. Through this academic community, we continue our 103-year legacy of preparing individuals for careers that strengthen the lives of individuals, families, communities, and organizations.
The university offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in programs distinguished by their social relevance and intellectual breadth, providing graduates the theory and practical skills necessary to succeed in professions that contribute to the public good. The foundation of a Lesley education is experiential learning through which students explore the intersection of theory and practice and become engaged citizens and lifelong learners. Our proximity to Boston means our students benefit from a wide array of engaging internship opportunities that lead to socially responsible and personally fulfilling careers. As educators and school leaders, environmentalists and entrepreneurs, visual artists, writers, counselors, and therapists, our graduates bring positive change to schools, organizations, and communities.
Our campus locations are in Boston and in three historic neighborhoods in Cambridge, connected by the vibrant Massachusetts Avenue corridor that links Lesley’s Porter, Doble, and Brattle campuses. Lesley both contributes to and is enriched by the educational and cultural life in Cambridge and the greater Boston area. In the coming year we begin construction on a new Arts Center adjacent to our Graduate School of Education in Porter Square that will provide new synergies for arts programming across the university and serve as a hub of artistic creativity.
We are proud to be an institution of higher education that cultivates individual excellence and community well-being. We are proud to have so many dedicated individuals who make this university what it is. Whether you’re a prospective student, a current student, a member of the faculty or staff, a graduate, a parent, or a friend, we appreciate your interest, enthusiasm, and support as you explore Lesley.
Sincerely,
Joseph B. Moore
