MAP is an online tool for students to document and demonstrate their learning.
The Graduate School of Education uses My Assessment Portfolio (MAP), an
electronic portfolio (ePortfolio) system that will be used by all newly
enrolled graduate students beginning licensure and Master’s degree
programs. MAP provides an easy way for students to document and
demonstrate their learning online. Students benefit from having a secure
electronic location for storing papers, projects, multimedia files,
artwork, and videos of teaching – everything related to their
development as an educator. MAP enables faculty to review student work
and provide direct feedback via rubrics, handwritten notes, or recorded
audio messages; supports each candidate’s self-evaluation and
professional growth over time; and provides evidence that students are
meeting required state and professional standards. Each course in every program has at least one key assignment that is designed to evaluate a candidate's progress toward particular outcomes of the program. Students complete and submit their key assignment for each course to
their instructor via the ePortfolio. The
instructor grades the work using both the usual grading policy for the
class and the rubric. The key assignment is assessed using a corresponding rubric that has been aligned to the program’s stated outcomes as well as the standards set by a state and/or a professional content organization. During the first week of the semester or term in which you begin your
program, the initial five-year subscription to your ePortfolio will be
created through an automatic registration process for Chalk & Wire.
There is a one-time, non-refundable subscription fee of $150.00
associated with MAP ePortfolio use. This fee will be posted on your
tuition bill. Financial aid can be used to cover this fee.Once
your Chalk & Wire account is created, a welcome letter will be sent
to your lesley.edu address. The welcome letter will contain your login
and password information in addition to training and other resources. To
access MAP, log in at Chalk and Wire. For access/login and technical issues associated with MAP, students may contact firstname.lastname@example.org. At this time, MAP is only available to matriculated education degree candidates, except those in the following education programs: Certificate of Advance Graduate Study, Advanced Professional Certificate, Science in Education Online, Ph.D., and individually designed Master's programs.
An orientation tutorial for MAP will be available to you through the myLesley Community tab in Blackboard. It is recommended that you view the tutorial as you begin your first semester of coursework. As you work through your program, you are able to return to this tutorial in myLesley to review all of the resources and help materials offered. Once the five-year subscription expires, you may renew your account by contacting the vendor directly.
