Staff Nicole WeberNicole Weber is director of the MEd in Science in Education program. She is interested in biology, engineering, and environmental sciences, and brings her love of science to the program, helping students to bridge their scientific understanding to local issues in their community and natural environment. Science Faculty Member Michael Thibodeau Wins Awards

Faculty Michael ThibodeauScience faculty member Michael Thibodeau is the recent recipient of two science awards. He received the University of Maine at Presque Isle's 2013 Distinguished Educator Award, which is presented to an alumnus/alumna who has received ongoing recognition as an outstanding educator.  He will also be inducted into the Massachusetts Hall of Fame for Science Educators, to honor his career in science education.

Teachers Rate High in Public Esteem

According to a recent Pew Research Center report, teachers rank high in public esteem—just below the military—with 72 percent of those surveyed saying that teachers contribute "a lot" to society's well-being.
