Elementary Education Enhanced by the Arts
In this joint M.Ed. program, which combines elementary education with the creative arts, you will discover the power and potential of integrating arts into the curriculum and classroom practice.
The program emphasizes human development, content knowledge, state standards, assessment strategies, technology, inclusive learning environments, accommodation of learning styles, and creativity for student learning. Appropriate elementary classwork is combined with arts-related courses to provide you with multiple paths to ensuring student success.
Key program information for M.Ed. in Elementary and Creative Arts in Learning:- Program consists of 42 credits (13 courses, including 1 arts elective and a 6-credit practicum)
- Program completion: full time students may complete the program in a year and a half; students may also take classes on a part time basis
- Classes are given at Lesley’s Cambridge, MA, campus
- Program prerequisite: undergraduate degree
- Program approved for Massachusetts Initial licensure in Elementary (1-6) by MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

EARED 5018 Arts and Human Development
This course familiarizes students with stages of human development from childhood through adulthood. Knowledge of human development is enhanced through interaction with art materials, music, movement, drama, and writing.
