For experienced educators with Master's degrees, this Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) in Curriculum and Instruction offers an interdisciplinary approach to professional practice. Gain in-depth knowledge of instructional methodology, academic content areas, and curriculum development. Stay in the same role with enhanced knowledge and skill, or fulfill a career goal of entering a new role as a coach, consultant, supervisor, or administrator.
This course will review the theories, research, and models on adult learning and development. It explores the social context in which adults learn and develop, and the influences of race, class, gender, and culture. Students will be required to apply the material to a practice setting. This is a seminar designed for advanced graduate students.
