Fun Facts: When not studying or teaching, Jason can often be found baking pies, reading obscure fantasy novels or exploring the nooks and crannies of the playspace with his 15 nieces and nephews.
Jason D. Butler, MA, RDT/BCT, LCAT is a Registered Drama Therapist, Board Certified Trainer and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist. Jason is currently pursing his PhD at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec where he is researching experiential learning in the education of drama therapists. Jason is the Training Director for DvT Montreal, a satellite of the Institute for Developmental Transformation and teaches part-time in the Creative Arts Therapies Department at Concordia University, previous to pursing his PhD he was a Limited-Term Appointment Assistant Professor in the Creative Arts Therapies Department at Concordia. Before moving to Montreal, Jason was the director of Goddard Riverside Community Center’s The Other Place, a psychosocial program for homelessness and mental illness in New York City. While there he was an adjunct professor at NYU in the Drama Therapy Program and maintained a private practice. Jason served for four years as the Communications Chair for the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA) and has held several committee positions within that organization. Prior to becoming a drama therapist Jason was a high school theatre teacher.
