Dr. Francis is a practitioner-scholar of adolescent education who brings to her classroom extensive experience as a middle and high school teacher, department chair, assistant principal, and middle and high school principal. She also served as the Director of Standards, Teaching and Assessment. She is a Fulbright Scholar and has led groups of educators to the Republic of South Africa and to Russia. She worked in Azerbaijan, teaching teachers who were refugees from the Civil War after the fall of the Soviet Union. She brings a strong content background derived from degrees in history, political science, and art history. Her teaching is replete with stories and experiences from the field, which makes her teaching relevant, engaging and comprehensive.
