Suzanne Zmijewski brings to Lesley University 18 years of teaching experience as well as experience coaching, advising, and tutoring middle school and high school students. Currently, Suzanne teaches eighth grade social studies in Belmont. As a middle school teacher, Suzanne's focus is helping students develop critical thinking, reading, and writing skills as well as an interest in the subject matter. Mentoring student teachers and novice teachers has been Suzanne's passion and focus. She has served as the cooperating practitioner for several student teachers from Lesley and other area colleges. For the past three years, Suzanne has been the district-wide Mentor Liaison to the Belmont Public Schools, planning and implementing a training program to support novice teachers and their mentors. As an adjunct professor and someone currently working in the field, Suzanne shares the latest methods and ideas with students while emphasizing what is PRACTICAL and usable for teachers entering this demanding profession.
