MTEL Workshop: Communication and Literacy Writing

The eight-hour workshop helps prepare students for all portions of the Communication & Literacy Writing subtest. Participants learn to write an effective persuasive essay and a summary, intelligently approach multiple-choice questions, and apply conventional rules of grammar and mechanics to their own writing as well as to multiple choice and short-answer questions. The workshop combines direct instruction and application exercises. In addition, participants write a persuasive essay during the workshop; qualified scorers critique this essay and mail narrative comments to participants within three weeks of the workshop date.
