Welcome to the International Student Services (ISS) office at Lesley University and the Art Institute of Boston!

The International Student Services office, located at 23 Mellen Street in Cambridge, MA is here to serve you! Janie Bess, Director, and Caity Hughes, Graduate Assistant, make up the staff of ISS. We look forward to meeting you!

There are three areas of service we offer you:

• Primarily, ISS staff advises you on matters of U.S. immigration law. As an international student studying at Lesley, your U.S. immigration status impacts a variety of aspects of your life in the U.S., including your academics, possible employment, and travel in to and out of the United States. We are here to advise you on all of these matters and any other issues that may be affected by immigration law in order to facilitate your academic success here!
• We also sponsor orientations and programs throughout the year. Our goal is to orient you as soon as you get to Lesley to help you smoothly transition in to life at the University and in the United States. Through our cross-cultural programs, such as a Fall Apple Picking Trip, a Traditional Thanksgiving Feast, and International Game Night, we hope to introduce you to American culture and help you to make friends with other international students and Americans on campus.
• We are also happy to help advocate for you. If you are finding you are having difficulty with any aspect of your new life in the U.S., we are here to assist you. Feel free to come by to ask any questions you have, whether it is about your landlord, where to buy a cell phone or where to go to find traditional food from your home country! We are here to help!
