Services for Students with Disabilities

Mission

At Lesley University, you will find an academic community that believes in equal educational opportunity for all qualified students with disabilities. Lesley University is committed to compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Amendments Act of 2008, as well as other relevant state and federal legislation.

Disability Services is a catalyst for ensuring students equity and excellence in education, maximizing each student's educational potential while helping him or her develop and maintain independence. Our philosophy is one that encourages self-awareness, self-determination, self-advocacy and independence while providing a safe, caring, respectful environment that cultivates growth and positive learning. The office works with faculty, staff and students on and off-campus to ensure that appropriate academic adjustments are made that allow all students an equal opportunity inside the classroom and around campus.

Beyond the Classroom: Lesley University's Commitment to Integrated Access

Lesley University is committed to providing equal and integrated access for all qualified persons with disabilities to academic, social, cultural and recreational programs at the University. This commitment is grounded not only in the law, but also in Lesley's own commitment to the inclusion of all members of the community. The Program and Activity Access Policy outlines the ways in which Lesley may ensure accessibility, including relocation to an accessible location, or providing auxiliary aids and services, technology, equipment, or personal assistance to facilitate access.

The Campus Map with building directory includes information about the accessibility of each building.
